The banners are up, flags are flying, and the sun is shining! It has proven to be the perfect weekend for our little town of St. Albans and their bicentennial celebration!
Rose bushes bursting with blooms are the icing on the cake!
Also wishing everyone a Happy Father's Day Weekend!!
Up on the rooftop… Getting decked out for our cute little town of St. Albans and their bicentennial celebration this weekend!
And believe me, the kiddos use any excuse they can grab to get up on that roof!
The weather outside is frightful...but the fire is soooo delightful...yes, it's one of those kind of days. And now it's one of those kind of evenings. The Holiday rush is almost through...tomorrow will be New Year's Eve. Its definitely time to be toasty!
So let's have a toast to being toasty....shall we? Cheers! xoxo
Merry Christmas to all and wishing everyone a wonderful Happy New Year! Now that most of the Christmas hub-bub is winding down, I've finally found a few quiet moments....in fact it's a blizzard with wind and snow swirling madly about out there! So here I am cozy next to the fire....a perfect opportunity to share some photos of our farmhouse all dressed and into the Holiday swing....
The photos above are the porches getting into the Holiday mood....and below are some photos of the main entry stairs and living areas....
The photo above is the living room next to the cozy wood stove....always ablaze on these cold December days! And the photos below are of the dining room decked out with dessert goodies...
This is the dessert buffet set up for our guests during our Farmhouse Christmas Open House. There's much work on the interior still to be accomplished but we dressed her up a bit and turned out a fairly festive old lady farmhouse just in time for our first Christmas!
This week has finally brought us our first real snow of the Holiday Season...and I must say...I'm absolutely lovin' it!
I'm keeping the decor very simple and natural...at least on the exterior. The lovely people at Dalou Tree Farm (in St. Albans) made the gorgeous garlands for us that I hung over the doors on both the front and back porches...
And as for the red accents? Well, I'll mostly let the bricks, barn, and berries take care of the red notes. Click on any photo below to enlarge...
I'm still waiting for hubby to hang strands of twinkle lights above the porches...and today I hung 3 lighted wreaths across the front porch...but I'll save those updates for another Holidays post. Meanwhile, I'm dreaming of a white Christmas on our beautiful Maine farm!
I'm a Texas girl now living the country life on a lakeside farm in central Maine with my four kids... and of course the horses, chickens, bunnies, cats, and whatever other critters happen to wander in periodically and take up residence.
